NEBULA SORT™

NEBULA SORT™

Accessibility

How Nebula Sort works with the accessibility features of iPhone and iPad, and what is still missing.

What the game supports

A dark interface with high-contrast text. Every colour also carries its own shape mark (● ▲ ■ ◆ ★ ✚ ▼ ⬟) on the capsules and the ships, never colour alone. The system Reduce Motion setting holds the nebula clouds and the pointing hand still, stops the target ring from pulsing and the bay from shaking, and turns pops and double flashes into plain fades. Menus, sector buttons, counters and boosters carry VoiceOver labels; result and pause cards keep VoiceOver inside them, and notices are read aloud. Menus and the counters at the top follow the system text size.

Playing with one finger

Each move is one press with one finger: press a capsule to see its path, release to send it, or slide off to cancel. There is no timer in play, though some tutorial steps move on by themselves after a few seconds. Sound effects, music and haptics can each be switched off in Settings.

Known limitations

The board cannot be played with VoiceOver. Some small labels on the board, such as the counters on the ships, don't grow with the text size. Tips and notices disappear after a few seconds, and with Reduce Motion on, capsules and ships still fly and a few highlights still glow on and off. These are on our list.
